What is CPU-Z and what can I do with it?

CPU-Z is a powerful software that gathers basic information of some of the main hardware devices of your computer such as, processor, motherboard, RAM, and graphic card.

Now, there are many things that you can do with it. Basically, you may need this program whenever you want to upgrade or replace some of the devices mentioned lines above.

For example, you want to add more memory to your system, but you do not what kind of memory your computer has, so the solution is CPU-Z. Forget opening your CPU to check the brand or the kind of memory you computer have. Just open CPU-Z and problem solved.

This small but powerful program is freeware, and it can be downloaded from http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php

HOW TO MAKE A REPORT WITH CPU-Z

1. Run the program.

2. Click on About tab.

3. Here, you have 2 options:

  • Click on the Save Report (.TXT) button, if you want to save it as a text file.
  • Click on the Save Report (.HTML) button, if you want to save it as a web page (Recommended).

4. The common “save as” window will prompt to you, just save the file within your documents.

5. Your report is now ready, enjoy.
